The effects of climate change are being felt everywhere.
A deadly heatwave is sweeping the globe, wildfires have broken out in the Arctic Circle, and record-breaking temperatures have been recorded from Lapland to the Sahara.
In the UK we’ve had the driest start to the summer on record. And across the world the most vulnerable communities are being hit even harder.
Unless we act fast, this could become the new normal. Ask the Prime Minister to make sure the UK does its bit to cut greenhouse gas emissions and keep our planet at a safe temperature.
To: The Prime Minister
The UK must contribute its fair share to the global effort to tackle climate change. I call on your government to adopt a legally binding target to:
- Cut the UK's net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2045.
- Meet our international commitment to keep the planet’s temperature rise below 1.5 degrees (above pre-industrial levels).
