Tell Welsh Government you want a zero-waste Wales by 2030

What were you doing 30 years ago? Were you even born?

30 years seems like a long a time, doesn’t it? But with the Welsh Government’s zero-waste target set for 2050, that’s exactly how long we’ll have to wait before nothing goes to landfill or incineration in Wales.

While the Welsh Government has been doing some positive things on waste reduction, the climate science is clear: we need to act decisively on emissions by 2030.

That’s why we need to make sure products are designed to be reused, repaired, refilled, recirculated and recycled so nothing is going to landfill or incineration in Wales by 2030.

Would bringing the zero-waste target date forwards be a big ask? Yes. Are we running out of time to act? Yes.

Now is the time to be bold and ambitious.

Please email Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths and ask her to bring forward the zero-waste target date in Wales from 2050 to 2030.
